We partner with AFREDAC to integrate innovative public health solutions into our bioethics initiatives, fostering impactful, evidence-based practices across Africa. AFREDAC plays a pivotal role in supporting the Sub-Saharan community of practice by providing essential infrastructure and managing all technical aspects required for effective training. Their efforts significantly enhance the community's impact by facilitating knowledge sharing, capacity building, and the development of a professional network that promotes ethical leadership and community-driven solutions. Our Events
The event highlighted a regional initiative to strengthen bioethics research in Sub-Saharan Africa by integrating ORCID into existing research systems. Supported by the ORCID Global Participation Fund, the project aimed to address structural challenges such as poor research visibility, limited digital infrastructure, and fragmented researcher identification. Over 12 months, a vibrant Community of Practice was established, reaching over 1,000 stakeholders across 12 countries. Through strategic partnerships, training, and system integration, the initiative improved research documentation, enhanced collaboration, and laid the groundwork for long-term sustainability in bioethics and ethical research across the region.
